The Challenge

This project is an initiative brought forward by the North London Waste Authority to revolutionise waste management and recycling for over two million residents.

At the heart of this ambitious project is the redevelopment of the aging Edmonton EcoPark, a facility in operation for over 50 years, into a state-of-the-art sustainable waste hub. This will help process household waste more efficiently, increase recycling rates, and provide residents with cutting-edge facilities for separating and reusing resources.

  • There is a very large waste bunker within this energy from waste facility, and there was need for a membrane that could be installed directly to the secant piled structure, as opposed to a membrane solution requiring a Shotcrete lining to be applied directly onto the secant piles first.

The Solution:

  • Premcrete’s Combi-Seal Plus was the preferred choice, due to its flexibility and self-healing properties. It can also be installed directly onto the secant piles, ultimately speeding up installation and removing the need for a lining application.
