Television Centre (TVC2)

2024

The Challenge

Television Centre, the historic former home of the BBC, is undergoing a remarkable transformation to become a cornerstone of West London’s cultural and social future. Set in White City, this redevelopment will bring together homes, offices, dining venues and entertainment spaces, creating a vibrant hub for modern living and collaboration.

The Challenge:

  • This large-scale development has a significant area of basement slab – in excess of 6,000sqm.
  • The original design was for a membrane system that required fully taped and detailed joints, which also specifically required membrane to be detailed around pile caps by the structural engineer.

The Solution:

  • Premcrete’s Maxiprufe Plus was the solution, which doesn’t rely on tapes, therefore by working with the structural engineer’s design request of wrapping the pile caps, Maxiprufe Plus could be used and it was ultimately a great deal easier to install, due to its flexibility and tapeless application.
