Rodney Street

The scheme will be delivered using low carbon and low energy design principles.

2024

The Challenge

Coined “This City’s” first development, Rodney Street will create 129 homes, ranging from 1-bedroom apartments to 4-bedroom town houses. The scheme will be delivered using low carbon and low energy design principles. These will reduce overall carbon emissions by 70% compared to an average UK building and reduce living costs for residents.

The Challenge:

  • The site faced significant ground heave issues requiring both heave protection and comprehensive waterproofing.
  • The scheme is heavily focused on reducing carbon emissions and Premcrete needed to deliver a solution adhering to the client’s design principles.

The Solution:

  • Utilised Premcrete’s Combi-Seal Plus, Hydroprufe 6000 and Hydrocrete for a robust variety of protection – as well as Premcrete’s ground heave protection innovation VOI-TEK.
  • Premcrete replaced the original ventilated slab specification, bringing substantial commercial savings and enhancing client satisfaction.
