The Challenge

Challenges were faced with an exceptional level of gas risk combined with the need to protect against contaminated ground conditions. Through detailed engagement FIS were glad to introduce industry expertise which helped to rationalise the level of risk across the project, therefore enabling a practicable design solution to be incorporated.

Hydrocrete Watertight Concrete was used throughout the entire substructure, with Combi-Seal Plus being designed to provide combined Gas, VOC and Waterproofing Protection to the Grade 3 zones of the environment and was also adopted for use within the Grade 2 car park to future-proof its use.
